Talented player who had a solid season as a redshirt freshman in 2010 However, he was unable to participate in spring practice after being diagnosed with ANCA Vasculitis, an auto-immune disorder that affects his kidneys, in January, 2011 He is currently being treated by UNC Hospitals' Chief of Nephrology Dr. Ronald Falk, and UNC Director of Sports Medicine Dr. Mario Ciocca.
2010 - Redshirt Freshman Season
Strong, fast receiver who recovered from a season-ending shoulder injury in 2009 to become a consistent threat in the passing game Appeared in all 13 games and started four, including the Music City Bowl vs. Tennessee Finished the season with 19 receptions for 202 yards and two touchdowns One of eight Tar Heels with 200 or more receiving yards Had two receptions for eight yards vs. Tennessee Caught three passes for 16 yards and his second touchdown of the season in the win at Duke Also had his first three carries of the season for 30 yards, including a 15-yarder Finished with two receptions for nine yards against NC State Scored his first career touchdown in the win at Florida State, finishing with career highs of five catches and 91 yards Also had a career-long 39-yard receptions against the Seminoles Caught one pass for 23 yards in the William & Mary win Had a 5-yard reception against East Carolina and an 8-yard catch against Georgia Tech Caught four passes for 42 yards in the season opener against LSU.
2009 - Redshirt Season
Started his first two career games at wide receiver and had three catches for 49 yards before missing nine straight games with a shoulder injury Received a medical redshirt for this season Had a career-best 23-yard catch against East Carolina Made two catches for 26 yards, including a long of 18, against The Citadel.
