Jack Halpert, 6-0, 195 pounds
Breschi on Halpert: Jack Halpert was awesome this fall…possesses great stickwork off the wings…he is in our 1-2 rotation at pole…really played well…he’s in great shape.
2018 (Junior): Saw action in all 14 games as one of Carolina’s top long-stick defensive midfielders…tied for second the team in ground balls with 32…had a season-high six ground balls against Mercer, five versus Syracuse, four against Hofstra and Virginia, three versus Lehigh and two against both St. John’s and Notre Dame…had a ground ball and both of his caused turnovers on the season against Furman…earned honors on 2018-19 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2017 (Sophomore): Really stepped into his role last year after Evan Connell graduated, earning significant playing time at long-stick middie…named to 2016-17 ACC Academic Honor Roll…played in 15 games, missing only contest at Furman…earned first career point with an assist against Dartmouth…had five ground balls and three caused turnovers…four of his five ground balls came in season’s last three games, including season-high two against Albany.
2016 (Freshman): Played in three games as a freshman...saw action against Manhattan, Maryland and Duke...earned ACC Academic Honor Roll accolades...named to Dean’s List in fall 2015.
High School: Attended Gilman School in Baltimore from 2002-15...coached in lacrosse there by 1991 UNC alumnus Brooks Matthews on squads which were nationally ranked three times…played club lacrosse at Maryland Lacrosse Club for coach Mickey Matthews...USA Today/USILA second-team All-America...varsity captain...two-time team ground ball award winner...first-team All-Maryland selection by both USA Today and the coaches’ association...defensive MVP of Maryland Senior All-Star Game...two-time member of championship winning Under Armour underclass All-America Team...led Gilman team to as high as a No. 3 ranking in the country...Under Armour underclass All-America...played for Maryland Lacrosse Club...had a 4.0 GPA in high school...completed 50 hours of community service with Living Classrooms.

My favorite thing about wearing the Carolina Blue is being able to represent everyone who came before me.
I love competing for this incredible coaching staff because they treat like a family.
My most underrated strength about my lacrosse game is my ability to sting corners.
My best friends on my high school lacrosse team were Charlie DeMuth and Jake Waxter and they are now playing for Dickinson and Denison.
Every high school recruit should dream of becoming a Tar Heel because we are a family.
Section #2: Your Interests
An ideal Saturday afternoon in the summer is spent relaxing at the pool.
My teammate with the best taste in music is myself.
My favorite professional sports team is the Baltimore Ravens.
The best movie I’ve ever seen on a lacrosse bus trip is Wedding Crashers.
The foreign country I would love to visit the most is Italy because I have never been.
Section #3: Food
My favorite tailgate foods are milk and cookies.
My favorite fast food restaurant is Chipotle because it is the best bang for the buck.
Sweet, salty or both? Unsure because I struggle identifying tastes.
My favorite food made by a relative is my Grandmother Lulu’s sausage gravy.
My favorite Chapel Hill dining spot is Lucha Tigre.

If I possessed the gift of time travel, I would go to the Wild West.
The person in history I would most want to have dinner with is Abraham Lincoln.
People would be very surprised to know that I could whistle before I could talk.
In a quarter century I would love to be living in Baltimore and working at my Dad’s company.
The most interesting or fascinating person I’ve met in my time at UNC is Colin Munro because he has double jointed elbows.
