Joined the Tar Heels as a walk-on in spring 2000. Earned all-conference honors as a senior at Smokey Mountain High School. Played four years of football and baseball and threw the shot and discus for two seasons. Coached by Lionel Brooks. National Honor Society student. Born March 5, 1979. Favorite athletic moment was forcing a fumble at the 2-yard line to preserve his team’s victory in the Homecoming game his senior season. Says he is a preacher and doesn’t know how to quit. After college he would like to play football or become a U.S. Marshal or FBI agent. Majoring in political science.
