Should be the starter at left offensive tackle. Awarded a scholarship prior to the 1999 season. Quite athletic for his height. Has a good attitude and work ethic. Had bone spurs removed after spring drills. Worked hard in the summer to get stronger. One of three seniors on the offensive line. Will be counted upon to provide leadership to a young group. Appeared in all 11 games at offensive tackle. Played 40 snaps against Florida State. Averaged 30 snaps per game over the last four contests. Had seven "domination" blocks.
Played in six games in 1998 as a reserve at both offensive tackle and guard. Played a season-high 20 snaps against Maryland and 10 at Duke. Missed two games at mid-season due to a case of mononucleosis.
Father Ryan High School
Lettered in football, basketball and baseball. Had 12 sacks as a senior defensive end. Second-team all-state selection. Also earned all-midstate, all-city and all-region honors. Helped lead Father Ryan to the regional title. Two-time National Football Foundation scholar-athlete award recipient. National and Spanish Honor Society member. Class president.
