Enters the 2001 season with a chance to see significant playing time at tight end • Came out of spring ball as the second-team tight end • Spent the previous two seasons as a backup tight end behind Alge Crumpler and Dauntae' Finger • Played in all 11 games in 2000, primarily on special teams • Played 127 snaps • Saw action on special teams and at tight end in all 11 games in 1999 • Played defensive end his first year and a half at UNC, but moved to tight end near the end of 1998 • Saw action in all 12 contests in 1998 • Made five tackles, including two primary stops • Had two tackles, one solo, against Georgia Tech and three tackles, one solo, at Wake Forest • Was redshirted in 1997.
