Charlie's had a terrific fall coming off surgery. He's had a terrific three years here and we anticipate him having a great year as a captain.
Is well respected by his teammates and peers.
He's an excellent position guy.
He's now a voice of the defense, which is a great thing for us.
He's really a leader of that defensive end of the field and works hard to keep the guys under wraps.
General: Tri-captain of the 2012 Tar Heels...three-year starter at close defense...a preseason All-ACC pick and honorable mention All-America by Face-off Yearbook...an outstanding 6-2, 190-pound position defender...was a seventh-round pick in the 2012 MLL, being taken as the 51st pick by the Rochester Rattlers.
2012 (Senior): Named to Dean's List in fall semester 2011.
2011 (Junior): Played in all 16 games for the Tar Heels, starting 15...ran his streak to having started all but two games in his Carolina career...Face-off Yearbook preseason third-team All-America defenseman in 2011...recorded his first Tar Heel point with an assist against Penn...had 30 ground balls and nine caused turnovers on the season...had a season-high four ground balls against Virginia and three grounders on four other occasions...had three ground balls and a season-high two caused turnovers versus Dartmouth.
2010 (Sophomore): Named a USILA honorable mention All-America following the season...was his second year as a starter on the close defense for UNC...played in 15 of the 16 games on the year and started 15 times...missed only the game at Robert Morris with an injury sustained against Virginia...was among the team leaders in both ground balls and caused turnovers with 40 and 14, respectively...had a career high eight ground balls twice -- in games against Jacksonville and Lehigh...had five ground balls against UMBC and three each against Bryant, Navy and Delaware...had five different games in which he caused two turnovers.
2009 (Freshman): Shared the Jay Gallagher Award as the team's top freshman with midfielder Jimmy Dunster...started 17 games at close defense, missing only the Ohio State game with an injury...had 41 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers...had nine caused turnovers in the first five games of the season...finished with a season high three against both Denver and Johns Hopkins and added two each against Robert Morris, Colgate, Lehigh and Duke...had a career high for ground balls with five each against Denver and Johns Hopkins...also had four ground balls against Robert Morris and Hofstra and three ground balls in four other games.
Community Service & Leadership: Worked with community church selling fruit and produce...volunteered with Habitat for Humanity...part of the National Society of Leadership and Success...has volunteered with the UNC Children's Hospital ice cream cart program and has also done volunteer work at Chapel Hill Ronald McDonald House, 2nd and 7 Foundation and Carolina Dreams.

Section #1 (Lacrosse Related)
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel lacrosse player is having the privilege to play at the greatest university in the country while being able to compete for a national championship every year.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Breschi is his passion and intensity for the game.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is recovering from my shoulder surgery (torn right labrum).
4. My best friends on another college lacrosse team are Mark Field (Princeton), Eric Smith (Delaware), Scott Matthews (Hopkins), Steele Stanwick (UVA) and Chris Layne (Loyola).
5. My greatest strength as a lacrosse player is ground balls.
Section #2 (Charlie's Interests)
1. Away from the lacrosse field and academic pursuits I like to spend time traveling.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is Serendipity.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be football.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Tomorrow Land.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is I love playing board games.
Section #3 (Food and Beverage)
1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a tailgate spread that included lobster, chicken fingers, AK Skis, chocolate ice cream and Reese's Cups.
2. My favorite beverage is milk or Vitamin Water.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is my Aunt Trudy's snick-snacks.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is The Front Porch.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is Reese's' Cups.

1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go to Woodstock.
2. My most prized personal possession is my dog.
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be George Washington.
4. My dream job is an ESPN Sportscenter anchor.
5. The most interesting person I've met at UNC is The Smort.
