SELECTION ... MEMBERS HAVE THE CHANCE TO CHOOSE THEIR OWN SEATS AND PARKING ONLINE
MEMBERS WILL SELECT THEIR OWN SEATS AND PARKING as part of the Kenan Stadium Equity Seating Plan. The Rams Club and Carolina Athletics will utilize new technology beginning with the 2011 season that shows Kenan Stadium seating in an online model, and tracks in real-time the availability of seats throughout the stadium.
NEW TECHNOLOGY SHOWS KENAN STADIUM SEATING ONLINE
Rams Club members will have a chance to choose their own seats as part of this new plan by utilizing a web-based service provided by The Rams Club.
The new technology provides members who have purchased season tickets with a login ID and password for a dedicated website for Kenan Stadium seating. From this website, members can see available seats, view panoramic diagrams, check available parking lots, and choose their seats and parking personally at their appointed time in the spring of 2011.
Members can monitor what seats are available before their selection appointment occurs, and easily choose seats and parking that reflect their preferences. The website updates seats in real time so that members may accurately track availability.
The technology has been used successfully by other major university programs-and promises to make the process easier, more transparent and more convenient for Tar Heel fans.
HOW THE NEW TECHNOLOGY WORKS FOR MEMBERS
The Rams Club will launch its new seating and parking website well in advance of the first seat selection process in 2011 (likely launched in the fall 2010). Members will have the opportunity to navigate the site, become familiar with how it works, and ask questions of staff members well before seat selections in May-June 2011.
The initial deadlines for setting membership rank and placing ticket orders will be April 15, 2011. Shortly thereafter, The Rams Club will send active members with ticket orders an appointment time-a designated time slot where a member may log in and personally select his or her own seats and parking from the web site. Appointments will occur at pre-designated intervals, and will allow members to choose seats and parking in rank order.
For those members who elect not to choose seats online, there will be opportunities to visit Kenan Stadium in person or to fill out a seat preference form on paper. Members who miss appointments or choose not to participate in any of the selection options will be assigned the best available seats shortly after their appointment time expires.
By utilizing this new technology, Rams Club members will be able to take ownership of their seating and parking assignments. A member will be able to establish his or her own preferences (low or high, North or South side, aisle or middle, deck or open-air lot, etc.), and choose accordingly.
Note: A separate announcement will occur when the selection web site is available for viewing. At that time, members will be provided with information on how to use the site. Appointments will not be set until after the April 15, 2011 rank and ticket order deadline.
