Daavettila Comes Up Short in NCAA Quarterfinals

#24 Brienne Minor of Michigan was too much for the Tar Heel rookie, winning 6-2, 6-4 in an afternoon match on the University of Athens campus.
#18 Daavettila, the ACC Freshman of the Year, became the seventh Carolina player to reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA singles tournament.
North Carolina wraps up another record-breaking season in Chapel Hill. The team set a program record with a 33-3 dual-match record, won the ACC Championship for the second year in a row and was awarded the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Team Championship where the club reached the quarters. Back in the winter, the Tar Heels reached the finals of the ITA Team Indoor Championship for the fourth time in five seasons.
