Trio Set For Black History Month Recognition
TAR HEEL TRAILBLAZERS
On GoHeels.com, you can read about the 12 former African-American student-athletes who have received Tar Heel Trailblazer awards and what they've been up to since being honored. Since its inception in 2014, the award celebrates individuals who paved the way for success in all aspects of the student-athlete experience. New Tar Heel Trailblazers are selected ever other year and were most recently honored last year.The Tar Heel Trailblazer award recipients are:

ONLINE RESOURCES
On Campus: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will celebrate Black History Month with various events throughout February, including lectures, panels and performances.
This year’s highlights are scheduled to include:
- An exhibition opening on Feb. 2 at the Stone Center Galley explores the phenomenon of physical resistance by African captives caught up in the grip of European slavery.
- The Black Student Movement’s Black History Month Committee and the UNC Albums and Records Society are hosting a Guess That Artist event on Feb. 2. Follow the Black Student Movement for more events to come this month.
- The 2023 Mary Stevens Reckford Memorial Lecture in European Studies on Feb. 23 will be delivered by Howard University professor Ana Lucia Araujo with a presentation titled “Slavery as History and Memory.”
- A theatrical performance of “Dar He: The Lynching of Emmett Till” will be presented by acclaimed actor and playwright, Mike Wiley, and hosted by Digital and Lifelong Learning on Feb. 26.
