Nate Yarbrough is in his fourth season as the equipment/clubhouse manager with the North Carolina baseball program. He is responsible for ordering, distributing and maintaining the Tar Heels' uniforms and equipment both at Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium and on the road and is regarded as one of the Atlantic Coast Conference's best at his trade.
A key member of the UNC staff during the squad's three straight College World Series runs, Yarbrough joined the Tar Heel program in September 2005 after a nine-month stint as Olympic sports equipment manager at the University of Pittsburgh, where he worked with several teams including the Panthers' baseball program.
Yarbrough also has worked as an equipment manager intern with the New York Jets in 2004 and at the Pittsburgh Steelers' Heinz Field Experience for three years. He is a 2004 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management studies. Yarbrough also worked as a student equipment manager with the school's football program for three seasons.
Yarbrough also has a Certificate of Completion for graphic design and animation from the School of Communication A.R.T.S. in Raleigh, and his work has appeared Tar Heel Monthly and on one of the Diamond Heels' team t-shirts.
Additionally, Yarbrough is a member of the Athletic Equipment Manager's Association and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Director's Association. He has also taken courses toward athletic director certification through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrator's Association.
Yarbrough is married to the former Kate Forrester of Laurinburg, N.C., and the couple has two sons, Jack and Drew.
