2018 (Freshman): Started 36 games, playing in 49 • Hit .257 with a slugging percentage of .305 thanks to two doubles and a home run • Drew eight walks and three hit-by-pitches for a .325 on-base clip • Logged seven multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games • Recorded a 10-game reached-base streak to begin the season • Made her collegiate debut versus Butler (2/1), going 1-for-3 three with two runs scored and a stolen base • Drove in game winning runs twice versus Virginia Tech (4/6 and 4/8) • Slugged her first career home run against Longwood (4/10).
Prep: A four-year team captain at New Albany High School, batted over .500 every season including hitting .641 with a .735 on base percentage and eight home runs as a senior • Three-time All-Ohio Capital Conference and all-district first team (2015, 2016, 2017) • Four-time all-metro • 2016 all-state and 2017 all-state honorable mention • Broke NAHS single-season records for batting average (.641) and doubles (24) • Led NAHS to its first-ever district championship and regional appearance in 2015, after winning the OCC conference title • Led NAHS its second straight sectional championship in 2016 • Member of the Ohio All-Stars Team that played the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team in 2015 • Played travel ball for the Chicago Bandits DeMarini, Indiana Magic Gold and, most recently, led the North Carolina Cardinals to the 2017 ASA/USA 18U A National Championship in Salem, Oregon.
Personal: Born Sierra Rae Parkinson on December 3 • Daughter of Russell and Shelly Parkinson • Has an older brother, Evan • Graduated Valedictorian from New Albany High School • A four-year student council member, she was class and student council president as a freshman • Four-year Key Club member • National Honors Society inductee (2016-17) • Named to the 4.2 GPA and above principal’s list all through high school • Majoring in psychology.
