Moving from tight end to offensive tackle for his senior season. Has played a number of positions in his collegiate career, including tight end, fullback, defensive end and linebacker. Has an opportunity to start at right tackle. Learning to master the technical aspects of another position. Must quickly pick up the pass blocking schemes. Is a tough young man. Very team oriented and should be one of the squad’s leaders.
At Carolina
Last year, he started every game at tight end and made four receptions for 32 yards. Caught a touchdown pass against Miami and set up a touchdown at Duke with a 15-yard reception. In 1997, he played in every game on special teams and made two tackles. As a freshman in 1996, he played in all 11 games. Saw most of his playing time on special teams, although he did see some action at defensive end. Made two tackles and had two quarterback pressures against Wake Forest. Was red-shirted in 1995.
Sevier County High School
Two-way performer who only played in five games as a senior due to mononucleosis in the last half of the season. In the first five games he caught six passes for 59 yards. Had 44 solo tackles and eight assists on defense. Also recorded nine sacks and blocked four punts. Despite his illness, was still all-conference at tight end and all-state on defense. Earned first-team all-state honors as a junior defensive end. Coached by Steve Brewer. Also won four letters in basketball and three in track. All-conference choice in basketball as a junior and senior.

Born Joseph Allen Mogridge on Nov. 9, 1976. Majoring in history. Favorite pro team is the Philadelphia Flyers. Favorite athletes are Barry Sanders and Kevin Nash. Greatest athletic achievement was scoring a touchdown against Miami in 1998. Other favorite sport is golf. Craziest ambition is to wrestle Brandon Spoon for the heavyweight title. Post-college ambition is to teach and coach. Says the word that best describes him is "versatile."
