Started at quarterback for two seasons at Northwest Guilford High School. Threw 32 career touchdown passes, including 17 as a senior. Also rushed for five scores as a senior. Two-time honorable mention all-conference selection. Also played basketball and ran the 400 meters. Was all-state in chorus. His favorite athlete is Randy Moss. Favorite other sport is baseball.
