Comes into preseason as the top reserve at right offensive tackle. Still working to overcome the effects of knee surgery from 1998. Needs to regain full flexibility which will help his mobility.
Played in all 11 games in 1999 a total of 70 snaps. Played at both tackle and center. Had a season-high 23 plays against top-ranked Florida State. Had one "domination" block. Enrolled in January 1998 and was on the two deep at center and guard, but injured a knee in preseason and missed the entire season. Tore his left anterior cruciate ligament and suffered a small fracture in his left tibia in practice on August 25th.
Crest High School
Earned all-state, all-conference and All-Piedmont honors. Honorable mention All-America by USA Today. Played for Coach Roy Kirby. Led the Chargers to an 11-3 record and berth in the state semifinals as a senior. Played in the Shrine Bowl. Member of two state championship teams at Crest. Two-time all-state and three-time all-conference selection. Threw the discus for the track and field team.
Personal
Born Bryant Cornelius Malloy on Dec. 3, 1979. Majoring in Afro-American studies. Favorite pro teams are the New York Knicks, Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins. Favorite athletes are Vince Carter and Randall Cunningham. Greatest athletic achievement was winning two state high school championships in Kenan Stadium. Post-college ambition is to be in the entertainment industry. Says the word that best describes him is "hair." Hobbies are playing basketball and video games.
