Jeff Schoettmer joined the Carolina Football staff in 2018 as a defensive graduate assistant. A third-team All-ACC linebacker as a senior at UNC, Schoettmer was a defensive captain for the 2015 Tar Heel team that finished 11-3 and won the ACC Coastal Division title. After coming to Carolina as a walk-on, Schoettmer started 38 games at linebacker, including all 27 in his junior and senior seasons. Schoettmer, who signed with the New Orleans Saints following his time at UNC, has a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He works primarily with Coach Thigpen and the Carolina inside linebackers.
