Joey Mangili joined the Carolina football staff in 2018 as the football operations assistant. Mangili assists with team travel and day-to-day operations of the football program.

Mangili spent the 2017 season in Charlotte, N.C., where he completed an internship with the Carolina Panthers community relations department. During his time with the Panthers, Mangili helped coordinate community outreach events, assisted with the Youth Coach of the Week, Community Captain and Highlight Heroes programs, and was an ambassador for the Panthers during Play60 camps and High School Meal Grant Presentations. He also helped to fulfill all fan pack and merchandise donation requests.

A Chapel Hill, N.C. native, Mangili is a two-year Carolina football letterwinner as a punter and holder, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science, sports administration in 2016. He is engaged to Caroline Bates, who is completing her final year in the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program at UNC’s Adams School of Dentistry.
