Andrew Mitchell joined the North Carolina football program as an offensive graduate assistant coach in 2014. He came to Chapel Hill after serving in a similar capacity at the University of Houston.
A letterwinner as an offensive tackle at Oklahoma State, Mitchell spent the 2010 season on the Cincinnati Bengals' roster and the 2012 season with the Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars before joining his alma mater as a graduate assistant coach.
In Mitchell's two seasons at Oklahoma State, the Choctaw, Oklahoma, native helped the Cowboys to back-to-back bowl games. Gunter Brewer was on the coaching staff during his time at OSU and he was recruited to Stillwater by Larry Fedora.
Prior to OSU, Mitchell spent two years at Snow Junior College where he earned All-America honors and helped lead his squad to the junior college national championship.
