2007 - Senior Season

Played in all 11 games and started the final six at middle linebacker • Entered the starting lineup for the first time in the win over Virginia on Oct. 22 • Had six tackles, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble at Virginia Tech • Posted a team-high 11 tackles, including a five-yard sack, and forced a fumble against Duke • Registered 10 tackles, including four primary and six assists, against Maryland • Had five tackles and a quarterback pressure in the win over Boston College • Posted four tackles against Miami • Made his first career start against Virginia and had six tackles and assisted on a tackle for loss • Assisted on one tackle against Utah • Had three tackles against Wisconsin.
2004 - Freshman Season
Played in 10 games primarily on special teams • Had six tackles, including four solo stops • Had one tackle against Boston College in the Continental Tire Bowl • Posted three tackles against Virginia Tech.
Cummings High School
Three-year starter in football • Earned all-conference and all-region honors as a junior and senior at linebacker • Also played wide receiver and tight end • Named MVP of the state championship game, leading Cummings to the state title as a junior • Made 98 solo tackles as a senior • Played basketball for four years.

Born Durell Desmond Mapp on December 1, 1985 • Son of Alexander and Deborah Mapp • Enjoys playing basketball and working out • Pretended to be Lawrence Taylor and Barry Sanders as a kid • Says the best word to describe him is "real" • Would like to switch places for a day with Dwayne Wade • African-American history and communications major.
