Played for Coach Tim MacMahon • Earned first-team all-conference honors at quarterback, leading Freedom to an 11-0 regular season record as a senior • Passed for over 1,500 yards with 18 touchdowns and ran for over 300 yards with seven touchdowns • Was second-team all-conference as a junior and was the Charlotte Observer’s runner-up for Newcomer of the Year • Also made honorable mention All-Piedmont as a junior • Had a combined record of 21-3 as a starting quarterback • Also played baseball for four years and basketball for two seasons • Was 6-2 with two saves and a 2.80 earned run average as a senior • Member of the National Honor Society and student government.
