Struggled to regain his complete mobility following knee surgery in 1999 • Played on special teams and was a reserve safety • Saw action in three games and played a season-high eight snaps vs. Clemson.
1999 • Freshman Season
Saw action in the season opener against Virginia as a redshirt freshman • Had two tackles • Played 16 snaps against the Cavaliers • Was injured during the season in an off-field accident and suffered a torn left anterior cruciate ligament • Also missed 2000 spring practice.
Lufkin High School
Earned All-East Texas and first-team All-District 12 5-A honors as a senior • Made 62 tackles, intercepted four passes, caused six fumbles and recovered a pair of fumbles • Returned one interception 82 yards for a touchdown • As a junior he had 47 solo tackles, three interceptions, caused five fumbles and recovered three fumbles • National Honor Society student.
