2005 - Junior Season
Played in seven games as a reserve defensive end Also saw some playing time on special teams Had seven tackles, including four primary stops and three assists Also had two tackles for losses of six yards, one sack for five yards, a forced fumble and three quarterback hurries Best game of the season came in Carolina's 31-17 victory over Utah when he had two tackles, one sack and forced a fumble.
2004 - Sophomore Season
Played in 10 games and started three at defensive end Made his first career start against Florida State Had 13 tackles on the season Made one tackle against Boston College in the Continental Tire Bowl Saw his first action since the Utah game in the win over Wake Forest Did not play against Miami or Virginia Tech due to a concussion Had two tackles against NC State and broke up a pass that led to an interception Assisted on three tackles against the Seminoles Assisted on two tackles, including a tackle for loss against Louisville Played well against the Yellow Jackets with six tackles, including three solo and three assists.
2003 - Freshman season
Played in all 12 games and started the first eight games at outside linebacker Finished the season with 21 tackles, including 12 primary stops and nine assists Registered 1.5 tackles for losses and a half sack Started as a true freshman in the season opener against Florida State Made four tackles at Wisconsin, including two primary and two solo and assisted on a tackle for loss Had two tackles at NC State Posted a season-high six tackles and assisted on a seven-yard sack of UVa's Matt Schaub Had four tackles at East Carolina Enrolled at Carolina in January, 2003, and practiced with the team that spring.
