Veteran cornerback who will look to build upon a strong finish to the 2012 season this fall.
2013 - Senior Season
Appeared in eight games at defensive back and on special teams • Finished with 23 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, two sacks and two pass breakups • Had a pair of tackles against Duke • Finished with two stops and a pass breakup against Old Dominion • Had the best game of his career against Pitt, finishing with a season-high eight tackles (six solo), three tackles for loss and the first two sacks of his career • Had a pair of solo stops against Virginia • Finished with two tackles at NC State • Had a solo stop against Boston College • Had four tackles and a tackle for loss against Miami • Finished with two tackles at Virginia Tech.
2012 – Junior Season
Appeared in nine games at cornerback and on special teams • Started the Maryland game at corner • Registered 24 tackles on the year, 21 of which were primary stops • Also broke up five passes, intercepted a pass and forced a fumble • Established a career high with 10 tackles in the season finale against Maryland • His seven solo tackles that day were also a career best • Had a solo stop at Virginia • Made two primary stops, broke up a pair of passes, forced a fumble and reeled in his fist career interception in the win over NC State • Had five solo tackles and broke up a pass in the win at Miami • Tallied three primary stops and a pass breakup in the Virginia Tech win • Had a pair of solo tackles in the Idaho game • Made his first appearance of the season at Louisville, contributing a primary tackle.
2011 – Sophomore Season
Came back from a knee injury he suffered in 2010 to compete in five games, including the final four contests of the year • Finished the year with five tackles • Made three stops in a 37-21 win over Duke • Had two tackles at Virginia Tech.
2010 – Redshirt Freshman Season
Played in eight games, primarily on special teams and as a reserve cornerback • Tore his ACL against William & Mary and missed the remainder of the season • Finished the season with eight tackles and one pass breakup • Had a season-high three stops in the win over East Carolina • Had two tackles and broke up a pass at Miami • Also made tackles vs. LSU, Virginia and William & Mary • Redshirted in 2009.

SuperPrep All-America • Ranked the No. 5 player in North Carolina by SuperPrep and the No. 8 player by Rivals.com • Considered one of the top 25 players in North Carolina by The Charlotte Observer • Member of the Rivals 250 • Considered the No. 1 cornerback in the country in ball skills • Rated the No. 20 cornerback in the country by Rivals.com and ESPN.com • Member of PrepStar’s High School All-America Team • Member of North Carolina’s Shrine Bowl team • Had a 59-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the Shrine Bowl • Member of the Atlanta Journal’s Super Southern 100 • Played wide receiver and cornerback for South Stanly • Caught 43 balls for 1,291 yards and 18 touchdowns in his senior season • South Stanly was 8-5 and advanced to the first round of the state playoffs • Teams rarely challenged him on the other side of the ball • He still intercepted three passes and posted 74 tackles • Also returned a punt and a kickoff for scores • Led the state of North Carolina with 15 interceptions as a junior • Also plays baseball and runs track • Coached by Luke Little.
