2011 - Senior Season
Started all 13 games at defensive tackle and was an honorable-mention All-ACC selection • Had 46 tackles on the season with 4.5 tackles for losses and one sack • Also forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, intercepted a pass and broke up two passes • Assisted on a tackle in the Independence Bowl vs. Missouri • Assisted on two tackles in a 37-21 win vs. Duke • Had three tackles in a 3-point loss at Virginia Tech • Matched his season-high with five tackles, including 1.5 tackles for losses and a sack, in a loss at NC State • Intercepted his first career pass and had five tackles, including one for a loss, in a 49-24 win over Wake Forest • Recorded four tackles in a 59-38 loss to Clemson • Had one tackle in a 30-24 loss to Miami • Posted four tackles in a 14-7 victory over Louisville • Had three tackles, including a 2-yard tackle for loss, and forced a fumble in a 35-20 victory at ECU • Left the ECU game with a shoulder injury in the first half • Posted five tackles in a loss at Georgia Tech • Recorded four tackles and broke up a pass in a 28-17 victory vs. Virginia • Had four tackles and two quarterback pressures in a 24-22 victory vs. Rutgers • Carolina limited the Scarlet Knights to just one yard rushing, the fewest by an opponent since 2000 Posted five stop and had a 1-yard tackle for loss in the 42-10 win over James Madison.

Team captain • One of only two UNC defensive players to start all 13 games • Finished the regular season with 47 tackles, three tackles for losses, 2.5 sacks, one pass breakup and one forced fumble • Made two tackles in the Music City Bowl win over Tennessee • Posted two tackles in the win at Duke • Made four stops vs. NC State and Virginia Tech • Had three tackles in the win at Florida State • Assisted on a tackle for loss and had three tackles against William & Mary • Registered a sack and had two tackles at Miami • Made two tackles at Virginia • Posted four tackles in the 21-16 win vs. Clemson • Had three tackles against ECU • Made a season-high seven stops and assisted on a sack in a 17-13 win at Rutgers • Posted six tackles against Georgia Tech • Recorded five tackles, including a 21-yard sack, and forced a fumble against LSU in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta.
2009 - Sophomore Season
Played in all 13 games and was in Carolina's regular rotation at defensive end • Finished the season with 24 tackles, including four tackles for losses and two sacks • Made one tackle at NC State • Had a 4-yard tackle for loss in the win at Boston College • Broke up a pass in Carolina's 19-6 win over Duke • Named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance at Virginia Tech • Forced a key fumble in the fourth quarter which Carolina recovered and eventually led to the game-winning field goal • Also had a sack on Tyrod Taylor in the first half, forcing the Hokies out of field goal position • Posted two tackles vs. Georgia Southern • Had one tackle vs. Virginia • Posted five tackles at Georgia Tech • Had three tackles and assisted on a tackle for loss in Carolina's win over ECU • Broke up a pass and had two tackles at Connecticut • Posted two tackles and assisted on a tackle for loss in the win over The Citadel.
2008 - Freshman Season
Impressive freshman season with 18 tackles, 4.5 tackles for losses, one sack and one fumble recovery • Played in 12 of 13 games and started once • Assisted on a tackle vs. West Virginia in the Meineke Car Care Bowl • Had one tackle at Duke • Recorded three tackles and assisted on a tackle for loss at Maryland • Made his first career start in the 28-7 win over No. 22 Georgia Tech and had two tackles and a quarterback pressure • Had one tackle at Virginia • Had three tackles against Notre Dame • Did not play vs. Connecticut due to a chest injury • Had four tackles, three of which were for losses, in Carolina's 28-24 win at Miami • Also had a 4-yard sack against the Hurricanes • Recorded one tackle vs. Virginia Tech • Had one tackle in the win at Rutgers • Recovered a fumble and had a tackle for loss in the season opener vs. McNeese State • Redshirted in 2007.
