Played four years of varsity football and was a two-time all-state selection • Tallied 199 tackles and seven INTs while catching 47 passes for 768 yards and nine TDs during his three prep seasons • Earned NICSAA all-state honors as a punter his senior year • Also played wide receiver, safety and returned kicks en route to two-way all-conference and team MVP honors • Made 67 tackles and caught 19 passes for 349 yards and three TDs • Claimed NCISAA all-state and all-conference honors as a defensive back following his junior season • Recorded 79 tackles and four INTs, while catching 25 passes for 398 yards and six TDs • Added 63 tackles and three INTs as a sophomore • Was also a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse, earning two all-state and three all-conference honors • Was an FCA huddle leader • A member of the 2019 Honor Roll • Coached by Ned Gonet.

Son of Mary Burr and Val Edwards • Sister, Margaret, was a two-time state champion high jumper who won a CAA title at UNCW before transferring and competing at NC State • Birthday is Oct. 10.
