General: A fifth-year senior who is one of the top midfielders in the nation...named a 2001 preseason honorable mention All-America selection by Face-Off Yearbook...one of the four captains of the 2001 Tar Heel lacrosse team...returned to the team after a year’s absence in 2000...was a red-shirt in 1999...one of the top faceoff men in the country...solid defender who has improved his offensive skills as well...has a lifetime faceoff percentage of over 50 percent.
2000 Season: Played in 13 games for the Tar Heels and returned to the lineup with aplomb...won 57 of 115 faceoffs during the season...had 12 goals and three assists...was amongst the team leaders in both ground balls with 62 and in takeaways with 35...scored three goals in the win over Butler and had two goals and one assist against Penn...also had two goals against Duke...had a season high for eight ground balls against both UMBC and against Virginia in the ACC Tournament...season high for takeaways was seven against Lehigh...won a season high nine faceoffs against both Fairfield and Lehigh...best faceoff games were 9 of 13 against Lehigh, 7 of 11 against Duke, 6 of 8 against Butler and 9 of 15 against Fairfield.

1998 Season: Played in 11 games as sophomore...won 52.2 percent of his faceoffs that season...had 32 ground balls and 13 takeaways...also scored three goals.
1997 Season: Won the Holmes Harden, Sr. Memorial Award for picking up the most ground balls on the team with 57...also led the team in faceoffs won with 67 and in faceoff percentage at .609...played in all 13 games for the Tar Heels...had a career-high 11 ground balls against Butler and 10 more against Hofstra...was consistently good in the faceoff circle...had only two games in which he won less than 50 percent of his faceoffs...had three goals and three assists on the season...had two of those assists against Loyola.
Prep: Was a three-sport athlete, participating in football, wrestling and lacrosse at Robinson High School in Fairfax, Va. ...played four varsity years each of lacrosse and wrestling and also played football his freshman year...his senior year in lacrosse, he was a first-team All-America, All-Metro, All-Region and All-District selection.
