Men's Lacrosse Ranked Eighth In USILA Preseason Poll

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. . - Entering the 2026 campaign, the North Carolina men's lacrosse team was slotted No. 8 in the USILA Preseason Poll, announced Wednesday.
The Tar Heels, one of three Atlantic Coast Conference programs ranked in the top-10, finished last season with 10 wins, a share of the ACC regular season title and the 34th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
This season, the Tar Heels are set to face 10 programs ranked in the top-20: Syracuse (No. 2), Princeton (No. 3), Notre Dame (No. 6), Penn State (No. 7), Duke (No. 11), Army (No. 12), Harvard (No. 13), Virginia (No. 14), Towson (No. 15) and Johns Hopkins (No. 17). In 2026, Carolina returns four USILA All-America players from a season ago, Brady Wambach (First Team), Owen Duffy (Third Team), Ty English (Honorable Mention), and Dominic Pietramala (Honorable Mention), as well as welcoming the second-ranked recruiting class by Inside Lacrosse.
Carolina opens the 2026 campaign on the road at Towson this Sunday.
