William's a solid defensive middie.
He came into fall ball in great shape, working hard in the weight room.
His conditioning level was the best it's been, so I know he wants to help out and contribute. We talked about him just having more consistent play. I think that will help him be on the field more.
General: Two-time letter winner...plays defensive midfield for the Tar Heels...5-10, 175 athlete...currently a Veteran Leader in the Carolina Leadership Academy.
2011 (Sophomore): Carolina Leadership Academy Rising Star...played in two games as a sophomore...saw action against Presbyterian and Lehigh...had a ground ball and caused turnovers against the Blue Hose.
2010 (Freshman): Played in four games as a freshman, seeing action against Jacksonville, Bryant, Lehigh and Dartmouth...won five face-offs including two each against Bryant and Dartmouth...also had a ground ball in the win over the Big Green. Community Service & Leadership: A Rising Star in the Carolina Leadership Academy in 2010-11.
Prep: Graduated in 2008 from Chapel Hill High School where he was coached by Glen Estacio...a two-time high school All-America selection...selected to All-State Team on two occasions...named an NSS All-Star...named to play in North Carolina All-Star Game...led Chapel Hill High team to a pair of undefeated seasons and back-to-back state championships...in club lacrosse play, he was a starter for the TSL Black Team.
Personal: William Alexander Scroggs is the son of Karen Shelton and Willie Scroggs...goes by Will...his mother is the field hockey coach at UNC and coach of six NCAA championship teams and his father is the former lacrosse coach and an associate athletic director at UNC...his dad Willie coached three NCAA men's lacrosse title-winning units at UNC...was born March 13, 1990 in Chapel Hill, N.C. ...has two half-sisters...Management &nt Society major.

Section #1 (Lacrosse Related)
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel lacrosse player is - I love everything about it but if I had to choose one thing I'd say the guys on the team.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Breschi is his attitude towards the game and towards the team.
3. Since last year the aspects of my training I've worked on the most are endurance, weight and speed.
4. My best friend on another college lacrosse team is John Haus (Maryland).
5. My greatest strength as a lacrosse player is my tenacity.
Section #2 (Will's Interests)
1. Away from the lacrosse field and academic pursuits I like to spend time listening to music.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be soccer.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Avicii!!
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is I read history books.
Section #3 (Food and Beverage>
1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a tailgate spread that included grilled chicken, pasta and avocados.
2. My favorite beverage is diet creamsickle Shasta.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is Ma's spaghetti.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Breadmen's.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is that dessert from PF Chang's, the one where the bananas are caramelized and surrounded by fruit.
Section #4 (Digging Into Will's Personality)
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go 100 years into the future, just to see what it's like then.
2. My most prized personal possession is my heart.
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Scarlet Jo.
4. My dream job is owning my own business and to be my own boss.
5. The most interesting person I've met at UNC is Greg McBride.
