Born Russell Lee Hawkins on November 4, 2004, in Charlotte • Son of William and Ivori Hawkins • Fourth member of his family to attend UNC (mother, father and sister) • His mother was a Tar Heel cheerleader • Played for Coach Michael McNeil • Played for AAU Team United • Also competed in track and field for two seasons • Member of the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society • Won several academic awards • Began a mentorship program (ACE Mentors) to assist elementary school teachers during the pandemic • Majoring in pre-business administration.
