SOPHOMORE SEASON (2019-20)
First year on the active roster with the Tar Heels after transferring to UNC from Florida Gulf Coast University, where he attended and played for one season • Sat out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules • Played in 14 games and scored five points as a freshman for the Eagles in 2017-18.

Born Ryan Alexander McAdoo on April 30, 1999, in Miami • Son of Bob and Patrizia McAdoo • His father played for Dean Smith at Carolina for one season (1971-72) and is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame • He scored 19.5 points and grabbed 10.1 rebounds, was the ACC Tournament MVP and led UNC to the Final Four • Was the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft, was the NBA Rookie of the Year in 1973, NBA’s MVP in 1975 and a five-time All-Star • Won NBA titles with the Lakers as a player in 1983 and 1985 and with the Miami Heat as an assistant coach in 2006, 2012 and 2013 • Ryan has five siblings • His sister, Rasheeda, played tennis at Georgia Tech and is a professional tennis player • He was a member of the Italian Club in high school and speaks Italian fluently • Undeclared major.
