General: Three-time returning letterman for the Tar Heels...has developed into a solid short stick defensive midfielder...will look to increase his playing again time this season and continue to contribute as a solid practice player...played in only one game as a freshman but saw action in 10 as a sophomore and then in all 13 Tar Heel games as a junior...serves as a CTOPS counselor at UNC...an outstanding all-around athlete who played five different varsity sports at Garden City High School.

2003 Season: Continued to increase his playing time as a junior as a valuable short stick defensive middie for Carolina...saw action in all 13 Tar Heel games...had seven ground balls on the season, including a season high three against Air Force...had two ground balls against Duke...was whistled for only three penalties on the season.

2002 Season: Saw his playing time increase significantly as he developed into a dependable presence as a short stick defensive specialist...continued to also faceoff for the Tar Heels...played in 10 games altogether...missed three games at midseason with injuries...against Navy he won four of seven faceoffs and had four ground balls in the six-overtime win.

2001 Season: Played in one game as a freshman...saw relief midfield duty against Pfeiffer and had one goal, one assist and two ground balls in that game...also won five of six faceoffs in the game against Pfeiffer.

Prep: Graduated from Garden City High School on June 25, 2000...participated in lacrosse, soccer, golf, wrestling and track at GCHS...was a two-time All-County selection in lacrosse...named All-Conference in lacrosse as a sophomore...led Garden City to two county championships and the 2000 state title in lacrosse...was named to all-academic conference teams in track, wrestling and lacrosse...member of French Honor Society and MAST and Matt Minardi Foundation.

Personal: Given name is David Mark Duffy, Jr....nicknamed "Pancake"...has one brother and one sister...his sister attends Duke...his uncle, John Duffy, was an All-America lacrosse player at Brown and held the collegiate record by scoring nine goals in a game.
