Bio
2025 (Junior): Started all 15 games during the 2025 campaign at close defense • Finished the season with 17 ground balls and nine caused turnovers • Earned first career start in the season opening win against No. 14 Michigan (Feb. 8) • Collected a ground ball in nine games, four of which he collected multiple ground balls • Had three ground balls and a caused turnover in the win against Stony Brook (Feb. 14) • Recorded a season-high four ground balls in the ACC opening win against Virginia (April 5) • Had multiple caused turnovers in victories against High Point (March 21) and No. 10 Syracuse (April 26)
2024 (Sophomore): Appeared in all 14 contests during the 2024 season • Recorded first career assist and point in the ranked win over Penn (March 3) • Collected a ground ball in eight-straight games • Had multiple ground balls against Princeton (March 1), Hofstra (March 9) and High Point (March 23) • Recorded a caused turnover against Mercer (Feb. 10) and Hofstra (March 9)
2023 (Freshman): Saw action in six games during freshman campaign • Made collegiate debut in the win over Mercer (Feb. 10) • Added a ground ball in four games • Had two ground balls in the neutral site matchup with Syracuse (April 15)
Prep: Attended Ridgefield High School, where he was a four-year starter for Roy Colsey • Helped Ridgefield to a 2021 state championship as a junior • A two-time All-State honoree • Named the Gametime Connecticut Player of the Year • Voted a team captain his junior and senior year • Also played football during prep career.
Personal: Kai Prohaszka is the son of Hernan and Shannon Prohaszka • Born July 28 in Hollywood, Fla. • Has two siblings, Laila and Ellie • Father played baseball at UAlbany • Plans to study business at UNC.
