Bio
Kyle Mathie
Breschi on Mathie: Great leader…I moved him down to close defense because I thought his leadership down there would be helpful…he gives us another senior down there with Joe Kenna and they are both captains…we also have Ryan Macri as a captain and Will McBride as a captain so we have a lot of leadership down at that end…Kyle played two years of long stick midfield for us and I think he got rejuvenated this fall played down at close defense…he’s gotten better and better…no one works harder than he does to improve his game by watching film...strong lefty defenseman.
2018 (Senior): Elected one of five team captains.
2017 (Junior): Played in 14 games…had 17 ground balls and five caused turnovers during the season…opened the season with three ground balls and two caused turnovers in win over UMBC…also had three ground balls against Richmond and Albany…won the most improved award on the squad in the strength & conditioning area……named to 2016-17 ACC Academic Honor Roll…earned spring semester 2017 Dean’s List honors.
