General: Co-captain along with Hayward Howard of the 2006 Tar Heel men's lacrosse team...a three-year starter on close defense for the Tar Heels...a preseason first-team All-America defenseman as named by Inside Lacrosse and Face-Off Magazine after being named a third-team postseason selection by the USILA last spring...was one of 120 American players invited last summer to compete for a spot on the 2006 U.S. Men's Lacrosse Team scheduled to compete at the International Lacrosse Federation World Championships...spent a week with former UNC teammate Jed Prossner last July conducting lacrosse clinics for university players in Japan... a tremendous defensive presence who is considered one of the best defensemen in the nation...has some of the best leadership skills of any recent Carolina player.
2005 Season: Captured third-team All-America honors on defense from the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association...shared the 2005 Turnbull Trophy as the most valuable player on the Tar Heel team with Jed Prossner...started all 13 games for Carolina in 2005...always guarded the opponent's top defenseman..despite that he was only flagged for three penalties all season...scooped up 34 ground balls...had a career high seven against Maryland and six in the win over Cornell...had one assist...faced off four times for UNC with a long stick...a preseason second team All-America selection by Inside Lacrosse/Face-Off Magazine.
2004 Season: Named an honorable mention All-America by the USILA ... started 14 of 15 games for the Tar Heels on close defense and was only penalized two times ... finished the season with one goal and 20 ground balls ... his goal came during a tough game against No. 2 Johns Hopkins and marked his first career point at UNC...tied his career high for ground balls in a game with four in the win over Duke.
2003 Season: Was one of the top freshman defenseman in the nation...started all 13 games for the Tar Heels and was penalized on only five occasions...had 22 ground balls on the season including a season high four against Stony Brook...won the Jay Gallagher Award as the outstanding freshman on the Tar Heel team. Prep: A standout defender who twice was named a high school All-America at Yorktown High...graduated from Yorktown in June 2002...named the top defensive recruit in the nation coming out of high school... played on lacrosse teams which reached the state semifinals three times...also played running back and defensive back on the football team and was a goalkeeper on the soccer team... 2002 Westchester County and Hudson Valley Lacrosse Player of the Year...Gannett Newspapers player of the year award winner...captained varsity lacrosse team in 2002...three-times an All-Section honoree... named twice to Empire State Games Team...was elected Empire State Games team captain in 2001...president of his senior class...member of SADD and DARE...also served on the yearbook staff.
