Thomas is certainly a guy who understands the offense. He's a great communicator and is certainly a leader out there as well.
A great off ball guy, especially with a lot of the dodgers that we have now.
Sees the field well. Scores in transition and scores in off ball opportunities.
A great shooter, has terrific range on his shot.
General: Three-time letterman...5-9, 165-pound attackman...was chosen in eighth round of 2012 MLL Draft as 59th pick overall by Rochester Rattlers...one of 24 UNC student-athletes to graduate as a Tar Heel Leader of Distinction in 2011 in the Carolina Leadership Academy...earned Super Ram status in weight room in fall 2011.
2012 (Senior): Participating for second year in Veteran Leadership Program of Carolina Leadership Academy...member of UNC's Student-Athlete Advisory Council for second successive year.
2011 (Junior): Was the third leading scorer on the UNC team with 34 points...was fourth in goals with 21 and third in assists with 13...also had 28 ground balls and six cause turnovers...had six multi-goal games and 11 multi-point efforts...opened the season with a goal and three assists against Robert Morris...named ACC Offensive Player of the Week on March 14, 2011 after his performances against Penn and Princeton...had three goals and three ground balls against the Quakers and three goals and an assist versus the Tigers...those performances also earned him Capital One/ESPN Impact Performer of the Week honor...had a season-high four ground balls versus UMBC, Virginia and Lehigh...sent Virginia game into overtime with a goal with five seconds left in regulation...had three goal and an assist to match career high for points in a game in win at Lehigh...member of UNC's Student-Athlete Advisory Council as a junior.
2010 (Sophomore): Had a breakthrough year for the Tar Heels, winning the Kevin Reichardt Memorial Award as the team's most improved player...despite a mid-season thumb injury that caused him to miss three games, he was Carolina's third-leading scorer with 43 points...led the Tar Heels in goal scoring with 30 ...had 13 assists, tied for third on the team...also had 15 ground balls...scored six man-up goals, second on the team...scored the game-winner in the fourth quarter in a 5-4 victory against Bryant...had multi-point games in 12 contests...had a career-high for goals and points in a game with five and six, respectively, against both Duke and Ohio State...scored two man-up goals in the win over the Blue Devils...had a five-point game against Lehigh (2 goals, 3 assists)...had three 4-point games -- 3g, 1a versus Jacksonville, 2g, 2a versus Maryland and 2g, 2a against Duke in the NCAA Tournament...had two goals and an assist against Bryant, UMBC and against Maryland in the ACC Tournament...scored twice against both Navy and Delaware...had a career-high five ground balls versus Lehigh and three against Dartmouth.
2009 (Freshman): Played in 17 games as a freshman...had two goals and six assists for eight points...his top point game was three against Lehigh when he had a goal and two assists...also scored a goal against Providence...had assists against Robert Morris, Denver, Detroit and Ohio State...had 12 ground balls, including a season-high two against Robert Morris, Denver and Detroit.
Prep: Graduated in June 2008 from The Collegiate School in Richmond, Va. ...attended Collegiate his final two years of high school after his family moved to Richmond, Va. from Dallas, Texas...was coached in lacrosse by Andrew Stanley at Collegiate and by Kevin Barnicle at Episcopal...his first two years of high school were at the Episcopal School of Dallas, Texas...played four years of attack on the lacrosse field between the two schools and was a forward on the soccer team for four years as well...the Episcopal School teams he played on were state runners-up in Texas in both 2005 and 2006 and also won a Texas North District Regional championship...garnered Dallas Morning News All-Area team acclaim...offensive MVP of Texas state championship game...was a high school lacrosse All-America at Collegiate his junior and senior years...was also named All-State in Virginia each of those years...a three-time All-Conference selection, once at Episcopal and twice at Collegiate...captained the Collegiate lacrosse team as a senior...was MVP of the South Team at the National Senior Showcase game...captain of soccer team as senior...was second-team All-State as a junior and second-team All-Metro the same season...an All-Conference choice his sophomore and junior years...an honor roll student...attended Jake Reed's Rising Junior Blue Chip Camp in 2006...attended Carolina's lacrosse camp in the seventh and eighth grades, marking his first interest in becoming a Tar Heel...Texas North District regional champions at Episcopal...led Collegiate to two Virginia state semifinals...in summer club lacrosse, played for Maryland Fireballs...played in Nike Blue Chip Camp.

1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel lacrosse player is the camaraderie amongst our team.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Breschi is his dedication to preparation.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is nutrition.
4. My best friend on another college lacrosse team is Colt Power (goalie, Notre Dame).
5. My greatest strength as a lacrosse player is off ball play.
Section #2 (Thomas' Interests)
1. Away from the lacrosse field and academic pursuits I like to spend time out at the Buh Ranch in Rio Vista, Texas.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is not a movie but instead the current season of the television show Curb Your Enthusiasm.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be soccer.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Swedish House Mafia.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is cleaning the house.
Section #3 (Food and Beverage)
1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a tailgate spread that included Mr. Staines' pretzel M&M's.
2. My favorite beverages are Dr. Pepper and coconut water.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is my father's deep fried turkey.
4. My favorite places to eat in Chapel Hill are The Front Porch, Sutton's and Top of the Hill.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is fried southern food.

1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I would go to the period from 2001-2009 when George Bush was president.
2. My most prized personal possession is my car, a lot of miles and hours logged on it.
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Jesus, but if he had previous commitments probably Kyle Mooney from the YouTube sensation Good Neighbor Stuff.
4. My dream job is one day being my own boss.
5. The most interesting person I've met at UNC is hands down, Ward "MC" Bitter.
