Joined the team as a walk-on in 2011 • Saw the first action of his career against Idaho in 2012 and played in the Tar Heels' victory over Old Dominion in 2013 • Played quarterback, ran track and played baseball at Ragsdale High School • Passed for more than 3,500 yards and 40 touchdowns over the final two seasons • Also rushed for 15 touchdowns • Named all-area and all-conference in 2009 and 2010 • Born Lukas Metz Heavner December 18, 1992 in Jamestown, N.C. • Son of Hal and Tammy Heavner • His brother, Matt, played football at Davidson • Majoring in psychology.
