Carolina head softball coach Donna J. Papa announced the addition of volunteer assistant coach Jordan Dail to the Tar Heels' 2023 coaching staff in September 2022.
Â
Dail comes to Carolina after a successful pitching career at Oregon. After playing her freshman season at Virginia Tech in 2018, the Forest, Va., native, spent the last four seasons with the Ducks. She pitched over 368 innings at Oregon in 85 appearances, tallying 32 wins, 28 complete games, three saves, 354 strikeouts and made two trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Â
As a sophomore, Dail was a Second Team All-PAC-12 selection, throwing two no-hitters and becoming just the fourth Duck ever to throw multiple seven-inning no-hitters in one season. That season, she led the Pac-12 by more than 70.0 innings pitched and ranked second in the nation during the regular season with a total of 248 innings of work.
Â
"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to work with such an elite coaching staff and learn from some of the best to ever do it, both on the field and as coaches," Dail said.
Â
"I grew up a huge Tar Heel fan and I'm grateful that I get the opportunity to be on the field with this talented team and staff this upcoming season."
