2019-20: Qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 4x400 before the meet was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic • Earned USTFCCCA All-America recognition following the cancelation of the winter championships • Ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 relay that won the ACC Indoor Championship title with a meet record of 3:06.66 • Earned first team All-ACC honors for the 4x400 performance • The meet record time of 3:06.66 also ranks third all-time in program history • Additionally earned first team All-ACC honors in the 400 meters, clocking 46.58 for third place in the finals • Ranks fourth all-time in school history in the distance medley relay (9:46.05) after running the third leg at the JDL DMR Invitational • Was a member of the winning 4x400 relay at the Power 5 Invitational and finished fourth in the 200 • Won the 400-meter dash in 47.15 seconds and finished second in the 4x400 (3:10.14) at the Virginia Tech Invitational • Opened the indoor season with a personal-best 800 (1:56.12) for second place while also placing second in the 4x400 • Outdoor season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2018-19: Earned second-team All-America honors in the men’s 4x400 after the relay finished 10th with a season-best time (3:05.11) at the NCAA Outdoor Championships • Qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round where he finished 32nd (47.10) in the 400 and 10th (3:05.44) with the men’s 4x400 • Helped the men’s 4x400 defend their 2018 ACC title at the ACC Outdoor Championships (3:11.50) despite heavy rain • Earned first-team All-ACC honors after clocking sub-46 in the men’s 400 for the first time in his career, finishing second in a time of 45.92 • Also ran a leg of the 4x100 that finished fifth (40.35) at ACC Outdoors • Ran a leg of the winning 4x100 (40.67) at High Point’s VertKlasse Meeting • In indoors, earned second-team All-ACC honors in the men’s 4x400 after the relay clocked 3:12.05 for third place at the ACC Indoor Championships • Also finished seventh in the 400 (47.68) at ACC Indoors • Clocked a career-best 200 (21.46) to finish second at the Clemson Bob Pollock Invitational while helping the 4x400 win the event (3:09.00) • Opened the season with wins in the 200 (21.91) and the 4x400 (3:16.88) at the Dick Taylor Carolina Cup • Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll • Competed for Team USA in the 400 and 4x400 at the 2019 World University Games in Naples, Italy where he finished ninth (46.59) in the 400 semifinals and led off the 4x400 relay (DQ).
2017-18: Qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in the 400 and the 4x400 • Finished his NCAA prelim appearance with a personal-best time of 46.40 for a 17th-place finish in the 400 and a 4x400 relay time of 3:26.07 for 23rd • Captured two first-team All-ACC honors at his first ever ACC Outdoor Championships, including a conference championship title in the 4x400 relay that ran a time of 3:07.66 • Also ran a third-place time of 46.55 in the 400 and a leg of the sixth-place 4x100 relay that finished in 40.33 at ACC Outdoors • Earned second-team All-ACC accolades after placing second in the ACC Indoor Championship 4x400 with a time of 3:08.27 • Ran the 400 in 47.51 at ACC Indoors for 11th place • Won two events at the Notre Dame Invitational, setting a new career record of 1:17.70 in the 600 and helping the 4x400 finish in 3:09.73 • Took home two first-place finishes at the Battle of the Blues, running the 400 in a time of 47.03 and clocking a total time of 40.63 in the 4x100 relay • Also helped the 4x400 line-up at the Miami Hurricanes Collegiate Invitational win the event in a time of 3:08.56 • Helped both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays win at the Virginia Grand Prix in times of 40.09 and 3:07.03, respectively, which moved Palmer and the rest of the 4x100 relay into fifth all-time at UNC • Named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the indoor season.
Prep: 4-time 400m & 4x400m district champion • 2017 UIL 5A 400m runner-up • Competed with Frisco Burner Nation from 2014-17 • Made the honor roll every year.
Personal: Isaiah Gabriel Palmer is the son of Duane Ephrain Palmer and Celina Palmer-Ruliffson • His stepfather is Jon Ruliffson • Born July 17 • Played wing for the Plano Rugby Club from 2011-14 • Plays the trumpet.
