2019-20: Won back-to-back weight throw titles at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge and the Virginia Tech Invitational before struggling with injury • Outdoor season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic • Named to the 2019-20 ACC Academic Honor Roll • Represented women’s track & field on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
2018-19: Qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in the women’s hammer throw (FOUL) • Set an ACC championship meet record, a conference record and her fifth UNC school record (fourth of the 2019 season) to win the ACC women’s hammer throw title [224-3 (68.36m)] at the ACC Outdoor Championships • Threw for a new school hammer throw record for three consecutive meets — the VertKlasse Meeting [209-3 (63.77m)], Raleigh Relays [212-1 (64.65m)] and Battle of the Blues [220-1 (67.09m)] • Named ACC Women’s Field Performer of the Week following her Battle of the Blues performance • In indoors, competed in the weight throw at the ACC Indoor Championships (FOUL) • Ranks third all-time in UNC women’s weight throw history after throwing 65-0.5 (19.82m) at Clemson’s Tiger Paw Invitational • Opened the indoor season with a collegiate-best throw of 43-7.75 (13.30m) in the shot put • Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll • Competed for Team USA in the hammer throw at the 2019 World University Games in Naples, Italy, where she finished 13th (59.42m).
2017-18: Earned second-team All-America honors in the hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a 14th-place mark of 200-5 (16.10m) • Punched her ticket to Eugene, Ore. at the NCAA East Preliminary Round by throwing 204-0 (62.18m) for fifth • Finished second with a new career record of 210-6 (64.16m) at USATF Junior Outdoor Championship hammer throw to qualify for IAAF Worlds • Initially placed 13th in the IAAF World U20 Championship preliminaries, but an official error led to her inclusion in the final • Moved up six seeds in the final to finish sixth with a mark of 201-4 (61.38m) • Earned second-team All-ACC honors after throwing 202-2 for fourth at ACC Outdoors in the women’s hammer throw • Competed in both the shot put and the weight throw at ACC Indoor Championships, finishing 15th with a mark of 41-10 1/2 in the former and seventh with a personal best 63-11 (19.48m) in the latter • Won the hammer throw at back-to-back competitions, first at the Miami Hurricane Collegiate invitational and then at the Virginia Challenge • Hit a career record mark of 43-3 (13.18m) in the shot put at the Battle of the Blues • Threw 199-6 (60.82m) at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge to win the hammer throw competition • Totaled 14 top-five finishes during her freshman season.

Personal: Jillian Elise Shippee is the daughter of David and Bonnie Shippee • Born April 19 • Her brother, Jonathan, played baseball for Monmouth from 2009-12.
