Dr. Scott Grant joined the UNC men’s and women’s golf programs in December of 2019 as the Director of Operations, Outreach, & Leadership Development. He works with both Tar Heel programs, cultivating outreach and leadership development opportunities for student-athletes as well as performing a range of duties in support of both programs.
Before coming to UNC, Grant spent 15 years in the high school and collegiate environment as a teacher, head golf coach, and athletic and facilities director. In addition, he served as an operations and marketing director of collegiate golf camps, while building a junior golf tournament series from the ground up.
Most recently, Grant served for seven years as a full-time faculty member in the College of Business at the University of Findlay, teaching leadership and marketing courses while also directing an innovative student-run agency, @TheOiler10. Additionally, Grant has worked with over 200 different schools and organizations over the past three years through his leadership development consulting organization, Triple Threat Leadership, LLC.
A native of Continental, Ohio, Grant graduated from the University of Findlay with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in sport & event management while serving as the graduate assistant for the Oilers’ athletic department. In 2017, Grant completed a doctorate degree in leadership and policy studies from Bowling Green State University.
Grant and his wife, Elizabeth, a registered nurse, have twin sons, Paxton and Knox, who were born in October 2014.
