As a Freshman:
Competed in each event by the end of the season • Performed on beam in all meets, on bars in all but one, on floor in the last five competitions and on vault in the final three meets • Set a career-high in her first collegiate appearance for each event and in her first all-around competition • Broke or tied her personal bests two more times on bars, three more times on beam and floor and once more in the all-around (9.725 on vault, 9.825 on bars, 9.850 on beam, 9.850 on floor, 39.125 in the all-around) • Earned top-ten scores eight times on bars, seven times on beam and three times on floor including three top-five scores on bars, two on beam, one on floor and one in the all-around competition • Tied for sixth place in the all-around competition at the EAGL Championship with an overall score of 39.125 including a third-place score on floor of 9.850, a tenth-place score on bars of 9.750 and a 13th-place score on beam of 9.825 • Placed 15th in the all-around competition at the NCAA Gainesville Regional Championship with a score of 38.575 • Earned second-team all-EAGL honors for balance beam • Marchese graduated from the Covenant Life Family Schools Program in December 2016 and enrolled at UNC in January.
Prep:
Marchese trained at Hills Gymnastics under the guidance of Kelli Hill in Gaithersburg, Md. • Two-time Junior Olympic National Team member and a four-time Junior Olympic National Champion • Captured the all-around and balance beam titles at the Level 10 Junior Olympic National Championships in May, 2016 • Was also the Level 10 National Champion on balance beam in 2015 • Earned her first Junior Olympic National Championship on balance beam as a Level 9 competitor in 2011 • Was a 12-time USA Gymnastics Region 7 champion, and was a member of the Region 7 All-Star team four times.
