Competed on vault, bars and floor in every meet for the Tar Heels • Named WCGA Second-Team All-American on floor • Named First-Team All-Tournament on vault, balance beam and floor • Named 2019 First-Team All-EAGL on vault, beam and floor • Finished first at EAGL Championships on vault with a 9.875, second on balance beam with a 9.875 and tied for first on floor with a 9.900 • Named a WCGA Scholastic All-American • Set career highs in all three events with a 9.900 on vault and 9.925 on beam at Pitt on 2/1 and a 9.9950 on floor at New Hampshire on 2/22 • Recorded a 9.950 on floor for three straight meets from 2/22 - 3/9 • Was named EAGL Specialist of the week for six consecutive weeks, weeks six through 11 • Gathered 16 first-place finishes and 27 overall podium finishes • Has now recorded a score at, or above, 9.850 on floor for 20 consecutive meets, dating back to 2018 • Only gymnast in EAGL to hold above a 9.800 average in three or more events • The only Tar Heel that competed in three events in each meet in 2019 • Competed at NCAA Regionals • Finished the year with an average of 9.8625 on vault, 9.820 on balance beam and 9.897 on floor.
As a Sophomore:
Competed in every meet of the 2017-18 campaign on vault, beam and floor • On vault, scored above a 9.8 in every meet • Averaged a score of 9.861 through 11 competitions, including the EAGL Championships • Set a personal best on vault in the final meet of the regular season with a score of 9.900 • Placed first on vault in eight of the 11 meets • Placed in the top ten in every meet and in the top five ten times on vault • On beam, matched her personal best score of a 9.9 three times, against Oklahoma, in a quad-meet against NC State, Michigan and Brown and against Alabama • Set a new personal best on beam against Pittsburgh in the regular season finale • Scored above a 9.850 on beam on five occasions and above a 9.900 on four occasions • Placed among the top ten scorers in seven meets, the top five scorers in six meets, finishing second in three and first in one meet on beam • Set a personal best on floor in the first meet of the year with a score of 9.950 • Matched that score twice more in the year, once against Pittsburgh and in the EAGL championships • Averaged a score of 9.898 on floor for the year • Went to the NCAA Regionals as an individual on floor and scored 9.875, earning sixth at the event • Placed top five on floor in every meet of the regular season and the EAGL Championships • Took home first place honors in floor on six occasions • Floor Exercise Champion at the EAGL Championships with a score of 9.950 • Earned EAGL Specialist of the week on four occasions (Feb. 20, Feb. 27, March 6 and March 20) • At the EAGL Championships, named first-team on vault and floor • Took home first-team all-EAGL honors on vault, balance beam and floor exercise • Named Second Team All-America on floor exercise • Received EAGL All-Scholastic Team honors.
As a Freshman:
Competed in every meet of the 2016-17 season on beam and floor • Broke her personal record on beam in the home opener against Florida with a score of 9.775 and then again in the next meet with a score of 9.900 against Pittsburgh • Also set her new personal best on floor in the Florida meet after scoring a 9.925 • Earned a score of at least 9.775 ten times, at least 9.800 eight times and at least 9.850 five times • Placed in the top ten on beam eight times and in the top-five six times • Earned first-place honors three times on beam with scores of 9.900 against Pitt and 9.875 and 9.850 against William & Mary • Placed among the top five scores in all but one regular season competition • Received three second-place honors and three first-place honors on floor • Named EAGL Rookie of the Week five times during the season as well as EAGL Freshman of the Year • Received first-team all-EAGL honors on floor exercise and second-team all-EAGL honors for balance beam.
Prep:
Received her gymnastics training at Brestyan’s Gymnastics in Burlington, Mass., under the direction of Mihai Brestyan • Attended Carlisle High School in Concord, Mass. • Won the state team championship during all four years of high school • Competed for Trinidad & Tobago as a member of the national team • USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Region 6 Level 10 champion on vault, floor exercise and the all-around in 2014 • Qualified for the Junior Olympics national team in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
