Bio
Kasey Parker
Dorrance on Kasey: Kasey Parker is very quick and fast. She is very good defensively up front in the Sydney Spruill mold. She is probably a little bit better than Sydney as far as beating people off the dribble and her ability to get to goal. She is a very good dribbling personality. Her challenge is to figure out a way to stay healthy but she has the potential to make the travel roster and if she works really hard this summer she has the chance to get on the field as a 15-minute per half player to press the other teams in the Sydney Spruill mode from last season. But Kasey Parker has a huge upside entirely based on how hard she is willing to work.
Junior Year (2018): Saw five minutes off bench versus Louisville • due to injuries she had been out of action since midway through 2016 campaign.
Sophomore Year (2017): Medical redshirt in 2017.
Freshman Year (2016): Key reserve at forward for the Tar Heels • saw action in 11 games, playing 248 minutes • shared the team lead in assists with four • all four assists have come in ACC play • recorded assists in back-to-back games against Virginia Tech (3-0 win) and Clemson (1-1 tie) and then again in back-to-back matches against Miami (3-1 win) and Wake Forest (2-1 win) • suffered lower body injury in mid-season and was sidelined the remainder of the season.
High School: Graduate of Dreher High School in 2016 • played soccer all four years there as a center forward and left and right wing in the midfield • made All-Region and All-State all four years in high school • won team’s MVP award as a freshman and sophomore • named Miss Soccer for South Carolina as well as state player of the year and Gatorade State Player of the Year • led high school team to three state tournament titles, including Michael Nash Tournament in Myrtle Beach her senior year • made team captain as a junior • scored over 100 goals in her high school career, breaking school record • as a junior, she was one goal away from breaking state record for most goals scored in a single season • had 62 goals and 11 assists as a junior • scored 38 goals as a freshman and 42 goals as a freshman • made the A/B honor roll all four years • took honors classes, including at least one AP class all four years • Key Club member and officer in National Honor Society.
