Head coach Joe Sagula announced the addition of former Carolina volleyball player Emily Zinger to his staff in August of 2022. Zinger played for the Tar Heels from January to December 2021.
Prior to her arrival in North Carolina, Zinger played both indoor and beach volleyball at the University of San Francisco. In the season and a half she played for the Tar Heels, the Little Elm, Texas, native appeared in 31 matches and 111 sets, tallying 214 kills, 82 total blocks and 62 digs.
Zinger is currently in her second year of graduate school at UNC, pursing a master's degree in exercise physiology.Â
