Katie Delude joined the UNC Sports Medicine staff in the fall of 2024 and serves as the athletic trainer for women’s lacrosse.
Prior to UNC, Delude was the head athletic trainer at Northeastern University (2014-24) in Boston, Mass., and was the athletic trainer for women’s ice hockey. Her additional responsibilities included overseeing department operations and management.
Prior to Northeastern, Delude received her master’s degree in advanced athletic training from Texas State University in 2014. While at Texas State, she was a graduate assistant with the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams. Delude completed a one-year internship with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2012 and provided care for its women’s soccer and men’s and women’s tennis teams.
Delude is a 2011 graduate of Springfield College with her bachelors degree in athletic training.
Delude’s interests include rehabilitation, Postural Restoration Institute and data collection and analysis for health and performance. Delude is a corrective exercise specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is also a member of the National Athletics Trainers’ Association.
Delude is a Massachusetts native and currently lives in Pittsboro with her wife, two sons and dog.
