UNC Women's Basketball Season Tickets On Sale

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.-Season ticket s for the 1999-2000 North Carolina women's basketball season are now on sale for $48 at the UNC ticket office. That price ($28 for senior citizens and high school students) includes 14 home games, beginning with the Nov. 23 in-state matchup against East Carolina. Season ticket holders also receive preferred parking and admission to special VIP receptions and team autograph sessions.
"Carmichael Auditorium is a wonderful place to watch basketball and we really appreciate the loyal support we get there," UNC coach Sylvia Hatchell said. "Season-ticket holders are a very important part of our fan base and we hope the numbers of people in this group will continue to grow."
Besides their eight Atlantic Coast Conference opponents, the Tar Heels will host Pac-10 teams Arizona State and California, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern and Radford. Carolina returns three starters and seven letterwinners from last year's team, which finished 28-8 and reached the NCAA Sweet 16 for the seventh time in the past eight seasons.
"We're going to put a very exciting team on the court this season," Hatchell said. "We think we'll give Tar Heel fans plenty of reasons to cheer."
