Capel Named ACC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -North Carolina sophomore forward Jason Capel has been selected as the ACC Player of the Week after leading the Tar Heels to a victory over Miami on Saturday in the Orange Bowl Classic. The Chesapeake, VA product netted 20 points in the contest, giving him back-to-back 20-point outings for the first time in his career as he tossed in 21 versus Tennessee Tech one week ago. To go along with his offensive exploits, Capel pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds, dished out five assists and recorded two steals against the Hurricanes. On the year, Capel leads UNC with 7.5 rebounds per game, and is third on the team in scoring with a 13.4 point per game average.
