Nikki Teasley Named ACC Player of the Week

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Sophomore point guard Nikki Teasley earned Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors after averaging 28.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in the Tar Heels' two ACC wins.
Teasley, from Washington, D.C., scored a career-high 32 points Saturday as No. 9 North Carolina defeated Florida State 112-101 in overtime on the road. It was Teasley's three-pointer that tied the score 94-94 with 13 seconds to play and forced the extra period. She then scored seven of UNC's 18 extra-period points to secure the victory. For the game, she shot 12-of-23 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line and also added six assists, five rebounds and three steals.
On Thursday, North Carolina opened up conference play with an 85-68 win over Georgia Tech in Chapel Hill, led by Teasley's 24-point effort. She shot 8-of-11 from the field, including 5-of-8 from three-point range, while adding six assists, five rebounds and four steals.
