Brooker Reinjures Left Knee

CHAPEL HILL, Va. - Sophomore forward/guard Michael Brooker, who sat out his first collegiate season with an injured left knee, injured that knee again in Monday's practice and will be out indefinitely. He suffered the injury while driving to the basket on a fast-break drill.
rooker will undergo arthoroscopic surgery on Thursday to determine the extent of the injury. In the spring of 1996, Brooker tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in a high school physical education class. He subsequently red-shirted his first year at Carolina in 1996-97.
The Sandersville, Ga., native scored 25 points, had eight assists and seven rebounds in 14 games this season. He scored a season-high 10 points in the opening game against Appalachian State.
