Nikki Teasley has been voted to the All-ACC second team, announced Wednesday, while sophomore guard
Juana Brown and sophomore forward
LaQuanda Barksdale both earned spots on the third team. Senior
Chanel Wright received honorable mention, just missing the third team.
Teasley leads the ACC in assists (176/5.9) and steals (81/2.7) and ranks sixth overall in scoring (15.5), fifth in games against ACC opponents (17.1). Brown, Carolina's second leading scorer with 14.8 points per game, is tied for the ACC lead in three-point percentage (.416) and ranks first against ACC opponents (.474). Barksdale, the Tar Heels' leading rebounder, ranks fourth in the ACC in boards (8.2) and 12th in scoring (14.3).
Third-seeded North Carolina (24-6, 11-5) opens play in the ACC Tournament at Independence Arena in Charlotte on Saturday against sixth-seeded Georgia Tech.
