UNC Signees Represent Tar Heels in All-America Game

Coretta Brown and Jennifer Thomas will be teammates at North Carolina next season but on April 3 the two were opponents in the Nike/WBCA Girls' High School All-America game in Hartford, Conn.
Thomas, starting at forward for the White team, scored 20 points on 8-for-16 shooting. She was 4-for-4 from the free throw line and also grabbed six rebounds in 23 minutes as her team won the game, 100-82. Playing for the Red team, Brown scored two points and grabbed five rebounds. She also had two assists in her 19 minutes on the court.
Brown, a 5-8 guard from Statesboro, Ga., and Thomas, a 6-0 forward >from Detroit, Mich., are two of the four players who signed with the Tar Heels last fall. The others are 5-9 guard Courtney Chambers of Asheville, N.C., and 5-9 guard Cherie Lea of Blanch, N.C.
